What exactly IS a Delve in WoW?
Think of it as a mini-adventure! A Delve is a quick (10-15 min) PvE activity in Khaz Algar, designed for solo players or small groups (up to 5, plus an NPC buddy). They’re full of combat, puzzles, and bosses.
How many Delves are there to explore?
A total of 13 unique Delves are scattered across Khaz Algar in The War Within:
Isle of Dorn (3): Earthcrawl Mines, Kriegval’s Rest, Fungal Folly

Are Delves strictly for solo players?
Nope! While designed with solo play in mind, you can team up with 1 to 4 friends, and you’ll always have your seasonal NPC companion.
Do Delves get tougher with more people?
Yes, Delves are designed to scale their difficulty based on your group size. While early testing had some quirks, Blizzard has since fine-tuned them to ensure group delves offer an appropriate challenge.
What do I need to start Delving?
You’ll unlock initial Delve tiers as you level. The main campaign will guide you to your first Delve, introducing the system and your NPC companion. Completing a Delve at one tier (e.g., Tier 1) unlocks the next tier (Tier 2) for ALL Delves. To tackle Tier 4 and beyond, you’ll need to be level 80, have finished the main campaign, and sport at least 548 item level gear in every slot. This grants the “War Within Delves: Endgame” achievement, opening the gates to higher-tier challenges.
